I missed a day. Did I lose my progress?
No. The target only moves up when you complete a day. A day you don't finish repeats at the same target next time, a shortfall never carries over, and missed days don't push the ladder forward or back.
Can I log a workout on a day it isn't scheduled?
Yes. Any completed day counts and moves the ladder up. The schedule only decides what appears at the top of Today and when reminders fire. Exercises that aren't due today wait in the collapsed "Not scheduled today" list, and you can still log them there.
How does an "every N days" schedule work?
It counts from your last completed workout. The exercise is due again N days after it, and it stays due every day until you do it. Before your first completed workout it is due every day.
I changed an exercise partway through. What happened to the old days?
Edits apply from today forward. Days you already logged keep the targets they had. To begin a challenge again at a target you choose, open Edit Exercise, scroll to Start over, and tap Restart Challenge. Your log is kept.
The hold timer makes no sound.
Check that Timer sounds is on in RepLadder's Settings. The beeps and the chord play at your iPhone's media volume, so turn it up with the volume buttons. The silent switch does not mute them; to silence the timer, turn Timer sounds off. The sounds keep playing with the phone locked or another app in front, over any music you have on. Haptics fire only while RepLadder is on screen.
My widget is empty or shows old numbers.
Open the app once after installing or updating. Widgets refresh after every change you make in the app and at midnight. If one stays blank, remove it from the home screen and add it again from the widget gallery.
Tapping a ring on the widget opens the app.
That is how the widget works on iOS 17. On iOS 18 and later, a tap on a ring logs one rep from the Home Screen.
My reminders aren't arriving.
Check that Daily reminder is on in RepLadder's Settings and that notifications are allowed for RepLadder in the iPhone Settings app. Each time you open RepLadder it schedules the next 14 days of reminders, so open it at least every two weeks. Exercises you have finished or suspended are left out.
I got a new phone. How do I keep my exercises and history?
RepLadder has no account and no sync; everything lives on your phone. It travels with your iPhone backup (iCloud or a computer), so restoring that backup onto the new phone brings it back. Without a backup, the data cannot be recovered.
